Synthesis of Collagen Type Ii and Aggrecan in Knee and Ankle Cartilage Lesions
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: Col II and aggrecan are the main structural components of articular cartilage. The C-terminal propeptide of Col II (CP II) is said to be a marker of cartilage collagen synthesis [5], whereas the 846 epitope is used as a marker of aggrecan synthesis [6]. Previous studies have shown collagen and aggrecan degradation to be different in knee and ankle joints [7,8]. The purpose of the present study is to show that the different frequences in osteoarthritis in knee and ankle joints are also reflected by a differential synthesis of Col II and aggrecan.

Study of Expression Level of Cartilage Genes in Rat Articular Chondrocyte Monolayer and 3D Cultures using Real Time PCR
Purpose: to compare the expression level of certain genes related to cartilage and non-cartilage tissues at monolayer and alginate cultures derived from rat articular cartilage. Materials and Methods: Articular cartilage was harvested from knee joints of 10 male rats and was digested using enzymatic solution consisting of 0.2% collagenase I and 0.1% pronase. Released chondrocyte were then plate...

Background: The purpose of this study was to create biomaterial scaffolds like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) containing stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF1) as a chemokine to induce hyaline cartilage regeneration of rabbit knee in a full thickness defect. Methods: We created a full thickness defect in the trochlear groove of thirty-six bilateral knees of eighteen matu...
متن کاملDesigning of Human Cartilage Tissue, by Differentiation of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells With BMP-6 in Alginate Scaffold
Purpose: In the present study the effect of BMP-6 was investigated on chondrogenesis of adiposederived stem cells. Materials and Methods: Mesenchymal stem cells derived from subcutaneous adipose tissue were cultured on alginate scaffold to induce chondrogenesis in experimental group, with chondrogenic medium having BMP-6 growth factor for 3 weeks. In control group medium without BMP-6 was appli...
متن کاملComparison between Chondrogenic Markers of Differentiated Chondrocytes from Adipose Derived Stem Cells and Articular Chondrocytes In Vitro
Objective(s): Osteoarthritis is one of the most common diseases in middle-aged population in the world. Cartilage tissue engineering (TE) has been presented as an effort to introduce the best combination of cells, biomaterial scaffolds and stimulating growth factors to produce a cartilage tissue similar to the natural articular cartilage. In this study, the chondrogenic potential of adipose d...
متن کاملInduction of Chondrogenic Differentiation of Human Adipose-Derived Stem Cells with TGF-β3 in Pellet Culture System
Objective Adult stem cells which are derived from different tissues, with their unique abilities to self-renew and differentiate into various phenotypes have the potential for cell therapy and tissue engineering. Human adipose tissue is an appropriate source of mesenchymal stem cells with wide differentiation potential for tissue engineering research. In this study isolated stem cells from hum...
